Garden Quartet is for clarinet, violin, cello, and piano written and inspired by the Wave Hill (Bronx), Longwood (Kennett Square, PA), and Desert Botanical Gardens (Phoenix). Each movement of the work is written specifically to reflect the individual nature and characteristics of each of these gardens. The work is commissioned by Chloe Kramer in memory of her late husband Alan, and the world premiere performed by Michael Stephen Brown, piano; Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet; Elena Urioste, violin; and Nicholas Canellakis, cello, took place at Wave Hill on February 25, 2018 with subsequent performances at the Longwood and Desert Botanical Gardens in the spring of 2018.
